Several factors affect the way your website visitors are tracked by Nelio A/B Testing. The following are some probable reasons for the discrepancy in the visitor count between our plugin and other Analytics tools (such as, for instance, Google Analytics):

  1. You limited the percentage of users that may participate in your experiments. Therefore, some of the users tracked by your Analytics tool are not included in Nelio.
  2. You group experiments and divide visitors into groups, which means that some of your visitors can be excluded from some of your experiments.
  3. Your Analytics tool kicks in before Nelio A/B Testing, thus counting page views for the control page and the proper alternative.
  4. You're comparing "page views" with "visitors".

Finally, remember it doesn't really matter if you're tracking tools differ in the data they present. What's important is that the numbers in each tool make sense and are coherent within that tool. Thus, for instance, if you see double the page views in one tool, you should see double the page views in the other.
